Butt Zingers; remedies to make your butt sing!

2 11 2016

Don’t be afraid to talk about your pooper!  Very important as it plays a role in your detoxification and since colon cancer is in the top 10 cancers you can get, taking care of this organ will help prolong your life.  Pooping counts!  Take note how often you go, if you are bloated after you eat, if you have smelly gas, odorless gas, sharp pains in your gut or an irritation on the lower right side of your abdomen and if your stomach feels “hard”.  If you have any of the above symptoms then you need some “Butt Zingers”.

There are many remedies to make your “butt zing”….which means these remedies get your “pooper” working 3x per day without gas, bloating, pain etc.    Contrary to a lot of rumors  your bowel was made to release its contents after each meal.  When your stomach becomes full of food the rectum should be triggered and it will give you a signal that you need to have a bowel movement.  Take the time to poop!  If you are too busy to poo, then you are too busy!

Here is a list of “Butt Zingers”, try one or a few of these suggestions on your own if you like, but if you don’t have any success or little success after 4 weeks, then I would see a professional herbalist or a natural health professional of your choice.  (I am available for face to face appointments as well as appointments over “face time” or “skype”)

Butt Zinger #1: Fiber Drink for a Daily Cleanse.  We have all heard about this 30 grams of fiber deal, but it isn’t near enough and is the minimum recommended amount of fiber per day.  You can get the minimum by taking 2 heaped tbsp of ground golden flax seed in water and you can add psyllium to even make the fiber content higher.  If psyllium makes you bloated then use ground chia seeds or you can even add finely ground oat or wheat bran if you are allowed to have grains or gluten.  (Note: oats are gluten free if the package says so, wheat bran will be contaminated with gluten.) Roughly each tbsp or 15 mL of ground flax, psyllium hulls/seeds & chia equals about 5 grams.  If you are living in a colder country (Ie. any place that has all 4 seasons) then you will need to take at least 2 fiber drinks per day.  The reason for this is simply because the food eaten in colder countries is heavier so more fiber is needed to “push” this food along in the intestines helping you to eliminate properly.

How to Take A Fiber Drink Properly

Butt Zinger #2:  Eat Fermented Foods Daily.  You drink water kefir, milk kefir, eat yogurt, eat fermented vegetables, & do it daily so that you can keep the good bacteria in your gut up to high enough levels to help you to produce enzymes, Vitamin K & other vitamins as well as to simply increase your digestion & assimilation of food. (Ie. better energy, no gas, better skin etc.) Here are some recipes for you to make your own fermented foods:  Water Kefir, Kombucha, Fermented Vegetables.

Butt Zinger #3: Do a Bowel Cleanse using Bentonite Clay, Psyllium hulls/seeds ground, Ground Flax Seed in combination with a Parasite Cleanse like Parapak from Nature’s Sunshine or use Black Walnut/Cloves/Wormwood and in conjunction with bowel herbs or Magnesium citrate.  There is different quality in herbs that you buy so I am suggesting this Black Walnut tincture or capsules & I would capsulate your own clove capsules because it seems that the brands I have tried already capsulated are not as potent.  If you buy the powder from a reliable health food store it should make your tongue “numb” & be fairly bitter/spicey in your mouth.  As far as the Wormwood goes I get my tincture in bulk & it works better than the capsules.  (Yes, it is quite bitter, but you only take about 4 to 6 drops in water & then eat an apple to get the taste out of your mouth.)  The parasite cleanse lasts for up to 8 weeks depending on what you have going on.  I am available for appointments to help you out with this either in person or over Skype.

If you decide to do the Clay/Psyllium/Flax seed mixture, you will want detailed instructions on how to do this properly.  You can use Dr. Bernard Jensen’s 7 day cleanse as a guide, and yes, it was intended for those who can fast for 7 days, but you can modify it to include “light” cleansing meals/shakes if required.  I am not advocating people to fast since it is not for everyone.  (I did not include the other supplements he uses in it, so if you are wanting to do the cleanse with the supplements email me and I will give the names of them to you with the substitute supplements for those of us in Canada eh:)) Check out the modified version here.

Butt Zinger #4:  Take Magnesium Citrate before bed & in the morning to make your poo softer & easier to release in the morning & afternoon.  Remember the train rule, 3 trains in, 3 trains out….Ie. 3 meals in & 3 meals out!  If you are not pooping 3x per day & they are not as long as your arm & a “toonie” in diameter then you are not pooping enough!  The amount of Magnesium you need will vary person to person…so you have to play with it a bit before you can get this down to an art.  But you still want your stools formed, soft and easy to eliminate.

Butt Zinger #5:  Make sure that you keep away refined foods like white sugar, white flour, white rice because these tend to “gum” up the colon & it will have a difficult time eliminating for you as the Ascending Colon on the right side of your body has to work against gravity to get rid of the poo & if there is not enough fiber in your diet or supplements then you will get a build up inside your intestines which will make you toxic over time & have very low energy or lower energy than optimum levels.

Butt Zinger #6:  If your gas is smelly you are having trouble with digesting proteins or you have parasites so you will need to either change the type of protein you are eating, or the way you cook it, or use digestive bitters or enzymes to digest the protein better.  Betaine HCl is usually the one used in this case or a parasite cleanse or both!  If your gas has no smell then you are not digesting your carbohydrates well so you will need to take grains out of your diet, or use a “pancreatic” digestive aid like the Digestive Enzymes Nature’s Sunshine sells, or you also need a parasite cleanse or a combination of all of these. (If you want the Nature’s Sunshine enzymes, I do have them for sale.)

Butt Zinger #7:  Do colon hydrotherapy or colonics at least every fall & spring in a series of 3 to 6 at the most 2 weeks apart but best is weekly or every 3 to 4 days.  This will help to clean out the build up and free your liver up from keeping the toxins out of your blood from a toxic colon.  (Ie. The liver detoxifies through the colon.)  This is also practicing “health prevention” since colon cancer is in the top 10 most common cancers.

Butt Zinger #8: Take a high quality probiotic.  I use the Seroyal/Genestra HMF probiotics because they are “Human Microflora strains” which will not be easily washed out of the colon because they form a “living” wallpaper in the intestine.  Seroyal has many different types of probiotics but the most common one I use is the HMF Intensive, HMF Super Powder, HMF plain capsules, HMF Replete & now they have introduced the HMF Travel version which I am very excited about using!  I assess each person to determine which one they need and just to clarify, most if not all of the probiotics bought at the health food store are not good quality & they usually “wash” out of the colon in 4 days because they are bacteria strains sourced from cows.  So don’t waste your money.  When you use a good quality probiotic you will notice some sort of difference in your digestion.  Ie. less gas, bloating etc.  Please also note, studies show that probiotics are best used along side a good diet rich in “fermented” foods as listed above.

Butt Zinger #9:  Drink water with no Chlorine in it or drugs, yes, prescription drugs & other contaminants.  Ultimately use a filter and check it every 3 months to make sure it is still filtering adequately.  You can buy “spa” drops or “oto” drops at your nearest hardware type store for a few dollars & they will show if the water has Chlorine in it by turning the water yellow or another colour…check the instructions.  In case you weren’t sure why I put this as important for the intestines, particularly for the colon, it is because Chlorine kills the good bacteria in your gut, plus it also competes with Iodine so that your Thyroid will be functioning low…..both cause sluggishness in the colon & decreased elimination which means increased toxicity in the body.

And remember, I am only talking about the Chlorine in the water.  There are traces of prescription drugs in the water too…& only God knows what that does to your colon.

The other factor to remember about water is to make it “alkaline” water.  I know there is great debate over R/O water, distilled water etc…but most people need “alkaline” water because it absorbs better.  The only reason why people should drink R/O or distilled water is simply to detoxify metals or other toxins out of the body for certain dis-eases like cancer for instance…or if you simple “feel” better using the R/O or distilled water.  Otherwise, drink alkaline water…at least pH 7.5 to start.

Also, water helps keep the stools soft, but you have to be absorbing it if you want this result.  Each person, child & adult, should be drinking at least 1/2 oz of water per lb of body weight or for us Canadians it is 1.1 oz or 32.5 mL per Kg of body weight.  So every adult is between 1 to 3 litres per day of water at least.  And if you sweat a lot, drink more.

Butt Zinger #10:  Eat lots of dark green leafy veges, wheat grass, cruciferous vegetables, sprouts etc.  Basically, anything with chlorophyll helps soothe the colon, plus there are other vitamins & plant chemicals that help the body get rid of environmental poisons & toxins.  Wheat grass is very powerful & can be used in a “retention” enema to help with deep healing & detoxifying of the liver.  Seroyal’s concentrated Chlorophyll is very good as well as the Nature’s Sunshine Preservative Free Chlorophyll which is mint flavoured if you have trouble with the straight concentrate.  Both are sourced from alfalfa & are wonderful for soothing irritated guts.  Nature’s Sunshine also sells the Chlorophyll capsules which work when travelling when you cannot get enough veges into you & your intestines become too acidic.  Ie. symptom…burning butt hole, or just cranky guts without diarrhea.  This is not the cure for traveller’s diarrhea….that is a whole different kettle of fish!  (Look for a blog post on this in the near future.)

Remember; when you have taken care of your colon your butt will “zing” for you!

Keeping Breasts Beautiful with Cancer Prevention by Thermographic Imaging.

30 01 2016

Preventing breast cancer is possible.  The answer is under your nose & right in your city,

Check breasts annually with breast thermography!

but your Medical Doctor is likely not telling you about it because Mammograms are the fad and have been for many years…but unfortunately they are not preventative because they show calcifications/small lumps etc…abnormalities that are already present.  And they are not perfect, they can miss finding a lump.  Not too mention if you do have a lump it can squish it and possibly leak out cancer cells into your lymphatic system and lastly the radiation though small, is still radiation.

If I told you that there was a method that has been around for years and can 90% of the time find pre-cancerous conditions in your breasts, and that if found there is an actual dietary protocol & herbs to help get rid of the cancerous conditions and get your breast back to normal….what would you say??

Breast Thermography, otherwise known as Digital Infrared Imaging, is what it is called and has been done by professionals for years, but not in your hospital, in private offices across Canada.  They are read by a Radiologist and your breasts are rated from a TH-1 to a TH-5, with 1 being the most normal and 5 being the most abnormal.  The cost is $250.00 and can be claimed under some benefits plans as a “laboratory test”.

My purpose here is to show the differences between the diagnostic tests out there for breast cancer and show women why breast thermography is preventative compared to the other methods, that do also have there place.

Digital Infrared Imaging

Digital Infrared Imaging scans using a digital infrared imaging camera and a high speed computer and shows the function, the physiology, the metabolism of breast tissue.  It gives a picture of the functional activity in the breast tissue.  Usually abnormal cells are hotter because a malignant tissue mass is greedy.  To feed their rapid growth they produce a chemical that makes new blood vessels grow, this is called angiogenesis (“angio” means “blood vessel”, “genesis” means “creation”.).  A digital infrared imaging scan shows the heat difference between normal breast tissue and problem areas.  In scientific terms, the normal breast tissue acts as the control against which any hot areas are compared.

Not all malignancies are hyper-vascular, that is, a small number do not show increased blood supply.  Unless there are other signs, a thermography scan will not detect a non-hypervascular malignancy.

Which means you still need to feel your breasts monthly to make sure you do not feel any lumps since if there is a lump you would want to get other diagnostic tests done besides a thermography.

A Digital Infrared Imaging Scan provides the earliest evidence of breast disease.  The sensitivity rate is 90%.  This means in 90% of the cases, the scan accurately indicates a presence or absence of disease.  Digital infrared imaging has a 10% false positive rate; in 10% of the cases the results may suggest disease where there is none.

Ultrasound uses sound waves aimed at breast tissue.  The sound echoes back when it encounters a mass.  Sent to a computer, the echo waves show the shape and density of the mass.  When strict criteria are used, ultrasound can distinguish between a simple benign cyst and other masses.

A negative ultrasound does not mean there is not a breast mass.  There may be a mass, but if it has the same density as other breast tissue, no echo is produced.

Ultrasound is not a screening method.  It is a follow-up diagnostic tool to explore the shape and edges of a breast mass which suggest whether the mass is benign or malignant.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Like ultrasound, MRI is not a screening method but a follow-up diagnostic tool, MRI is being studied for its ability to distinguish between benign and malignant tissue masses, and to help physicians and the patient to decide whether a lumpectomy or mastectomy should be done.  MRI’s area also used to examine breast implants to see if they are leaking.  While ultrasound and mammography can only visualize the shell of the breast implant, MRI can tell if there is leakage.

MRI is not a screening method.  It is a follow-up diagnostic tool useful for breast implants.  Its role in breast disease and breast cancer is still being studied.

Mammograms show the physical anatomy or structure of the breast.  When an x-ray encounters a mass, it does not pass through as easily as it does through normal breast tissue so the mass shows up as a white area on the x-ray.  Medical guidelines recommend a baseline mammogram so physicians can compare the first one with later ones.  When a mass is found, an ultrasound may be done to get more information about the size and shape because the mass could be a dense cyst.  At this stage a needle biopsy may be recommended.

Mammograms work best for soft post-menopausal breast tissue, and for slow-growing tumours.  Mammograms do not view the whole chest wall; they are not effective for young, dense breast tissue, large breast, fibrocystic breasts, enhanced breasts (implants) and breast of women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or on hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Mammograms are used for breast cancer screening and  show the location of a mass or tumour.  Mammograms have a 25% false positive rate, meaning that 25% of the cases results suggest disease where there is none.  They have a 20% false negative rate (missed tumours) mostly in younger women, but can be missed in older women as well, due to the density of the breast tissue of women under 50 years of age.

A breast biopsy provides the only definitive diagnosis of breast cancer.  All other methods are investigative and adjunctive diagnostic tools.

So what is the big deal??  Well, here are the benefits of using the Digital Infrared Imaging Screening:

  1. It is timely.  Problems can be found before abnormalities are seen with mammograms.  Early detection provides the best outcome and treatment can be provided to actually improve your breast rating.  Normally, it is a diet & supplements that actually will remove the offending substances from the breast tissue Ie. Xenoestrogens.  (False-estrogens from plastics, pesticides etc.)
  2. Inclusive.  Which means that it examines the whole chest, breasts and armpit areas.
  3. Good for all ages and stages.  It is good for puberty, pregnant, breast-feeding, pre-menopausal years & post-menopausal years.
  4. Good for all breast types. Good for dense, pregnant, breastfeeding, fibrocystic, enhanced (implants) and women on oral hormone medication either BCP, HRT or Bio-identical Hormones.
  5. Painless.  No squeezing, no pressure, no touching by equipment or technician.
  6. Risk-free.  No harmful rays emitted so digital infrared imaging scan can be done as often as needed to monitor breast health and to guide treatment.
  7. Risk indicator.  Digital infrared imaging results are a better indicator of future breast disease, than a family history of disease.

So what happens in a Digital Infrared Imaging Screening Session?

Preparation Stage (about 20 minutes)

First, you will be asked to fill out a breast history form about symptoms related to possible breast dysfunction and disease.  In a private room, you will undress to the waist and let your breasts adjust to the cool room temperature (18-22 C).  It takes about 10 minutes for this part so you can relax or read.

Screening Stage (about 10 minutes)

You will be asked to stand with your hands on your head about 10 feet in front of a digital infrared imaging camera.  there images will be taken: straight-on, and right and left partial side views.

Cold Challenge

You will be asked to put both hands in cool water (about 10 C) for 1 minute.  This is a cold challenge to your blood vessels.  Normal blood vessels narrow and gradually become cooler with this challenge while abnormal vessels do not narrow and remain warmer.

After the cold challenge, a second series of three scans will be taken to record the changes in the response of the blood vessels to the cold challenge.

Report Stage

Your digital infrared imaging breast scans will be read and analyzed by a member of the American Board of Thermology.  You will receive your report by email.  There will be given and estimated expected date the report will be sent to you.  It is also recommended that you send a copy of your report to your N.D., M.D., and any other health care providers.

Please note:  this technology can be used for other parts of the body, Ie. Thyroid.  Always inquire if you feel you want another part of your body scanned.

Thermology Report

The thermology report, written in precise technical language, is summarized by a number which is a classification guide regarding breast tissue function.  The criteria for breast thermology classifications were established in 1970 at the Pasteur Centre in Paris.  These classifications, known as the marseille system, are reported on a scale ranging form TH-1 to Th-5.

The numbers are an indication of normal (TH-1) to very abnormal (TH-5) cell function.  The higher numbers indicate a higher risk of malignant disease, but THEY ARE NOT A DIAGNOSIS OF CANCER.  The only accepted diagnosis of breast cancer is form a microscopic examination of cells from a biopsy.

All reports should be discussed with your health care professional.  Your health care professional will determine what follow-up testing and treatment is required.  The report will suggest or recommend a re-test timeframe.

All reports should be discussed with your health care professional.  Your health care professional will determine what follow-up testing and treatment is required.  The report will suggest or recommend retest timeframe.

Is normal, healthy breast tissue: no evident, suspicious hot spots showing increased metabolic activity.  Next screen: usually 1 year.

Normal, uniform breast tissue: some blood vessel activity (hotter than TH-1, but responds normally to cold challenge).  Benign cysts and elevated estrogen levels are in this category.  Next screen: usually 1 year.  Using a dietary protocol with a supplement protocol would be useful in cleaning up the breast tissue to see if you can get to the lowest level TH-1.

Suspicious cell activity:  higher heat areas in breast tissue.  Next screen: Usually within 6 months to monitor.  And I would do a dietary and supplement protocol to help clean up the breast tissue, this way you increase your chances to have a normal thermography the next time.

Abnormal cell activity: higher heat areas in breast tissue.  A dietary & supplement protocol is required to clean up the breast tissue and bring it back to normal.  Next screen: Usually within 3 months to monitor.

Severely abnormal cell activity: higher heat areas in breast tissue.  Again, a dietary & supplement protocol to clean up the breast tissue is required to bring the breast tissue back to normal.  Next Screen: Usually within 3 months to monitor

Short Case Review:

50 year old caucasian women with strange breast pain/sensations and have persisted for 3 months.  There were no lumps found when she palpated her breasts.  She went for a breast thermography and the right breast was TH-4 and the left breast was TH-5.

For 6 months she did the Gerson Cancer Therapy diet and took lymphatic herbs particular for breast tissue and her constitutional type.  She repeated the breast thermography and her breast tissue had gone down to TH-1 & TH-2.

Her breast sensations were also gone and there were still no lumps detected by palpation.  In this case, as you can see, breast thermography helped to show the abnormal changes prior to developing breast cancer so that she was able to take a course of action to change the tissue back to normal.

I believe this can happen for more women!!  We do not have to have our breasts removed.  I do not understand the politics of why thermographies are not done in the hospitals, but I can tell you that cancer brings in a large amount of money and how much money would be lost in breast cancer treatment if breast cancer was never diagnosed in the first place??  Thousands of dollars.

Make breast thermography an annual part of your health program.  Don’t wait.

Start today!

How to Make the Immune Tonic Brew.

15 01 2016

The Immune Tonic Brew contains many herbs in the dried raw form…Ie. American Ginseng whole root, Reishii Mushroom, Codonopsis, Licorice Root, Sassafras bark, Maitake Mushroom, Shitake Mushroom, Astragalus root and Echinacea angustifolia root.

It is meant for modulating your immune system so it will help if it is over-active or under-active.  It is used during the season changes when people often get sick.  You can take it to prevent getting sick or to help you get better if you are already sick.

Usually you take about 1/4 to 1 cup per day.  I recommend staring with 1/4 cup and then taking it more frequently if you are fighting something off up to 3x per day.

Supplies needed are:

  1. Crock pot or large pot that can hold 4 litres of water.

     2. Stainless steel colander

     3. Cheesecloth at least 24 inches long.

     4. Stainless steel bowl.

     5. Sterilized jars with lids.  (Run through dishwasher.)

Step 1. Soak all the herbs given to you in the bag for 8 to 12 hours…12 hours is better and longer is okay…in 4 litres of water..purified water…Ie. filtered with no chlorine or other contaminants.

Step 2. Turn crock pot or stove if using large pot on stove, to low and bring to a simmer.  It may take an hour or more.

Step 3. Simmer for 4 hours.

Step 4. Allow to cool.

Step 5. Line the inside of the stainless steel colander with cheesecloth.  Make sure that the cheesecloth goes up over the sides of the colander.  Place this over a good-sized bowl.

Step 6. Pour the mixture with the herbs through the cheesecloth/colander into the bowl it is sitting over.

Step 7. Once the liquid is all in the bowl, take the cheesecloth and pull it around the “marc”, which is the herbs and squeeze all the liquid you can out of it.  Then discard this into the compost.

Step 8. Pour all the liquid from the bowl into jars.  You should have about 3 litres.  Refrigerate.

Step 9.  It should keep in your fridge for at least 4 to 8 weeks or longer.

Enemas are High! Who knew!! How to do a High Enema!

30 10 2015

Instructions on “How to do a High Enema”.  (A “high” enema means it goes to the beginning of the colon imgres-3    on the right side.)

  1. Fountain syringe bag (purchase at Drug Store for about $10.00)
  2. Filtered water
  3. Enema enhances: herbs, chlorophyll, aloe vera (as recommended by a health practitioner)

Steps to a great experience:

  1. Fill bathtub 1/4 to 1/2 full of warm water (or cool if you want).
  2. Hang fountain syringe bag on shower head or and adhesive hook, so tubing can reach down into bathtub.
  3. Have 1 or 2 – 1 liter glass jars ready with enema solution. (Prepare while bathtub filling.)

To prepare:

  • Fill liter glass jar 1/2 full with cool, filtered water.
  • Heat up some filtered water on the stove. (Don’t use hot water from tap.) Add to cool water till reaches body temperature.
  • Add Enema Enhancer recommended to you.
  1. Fill fountain syringe bag 1 liter at a time. (Make sure clamp is closed before filling.)
  2. Lay in bathtub on back. Open clamp to allow enema solution to just start to flow out; shut clamp. (This ensures no air is in the tubing before inserting rectal catheter.) After lubricating rectal catheter, insert into rectum.
  3. Open clamp and allow enema solution to enter slowly. Close clamp when feel pressure at rectum. Massage enema solution further up into the colon from left to right.
  4. Turn on right side. Open clamp again, allow enema solution to enter slowly. Massage colon as solution enters. Close clamp when feel pressure at rectum.
  5. Stay on side until feel urge to release. After releasing continue refilling colon with enema solution until finished.
  6. Raise knees above rectum by placing small stool or pillow under our feet while on the toilet. Massaging colon from right to left promotes better releasing when on toilet.
  7. When finished releasing, rinse fountain syringe bag with water allowing water to drain out tubing. Wash rectal catheter (after removing it from tubing) well with soap and water. Store rectal catheter in a clean container for future use.
  8. It is a good idea to smell the fountain syringe bag prior to each use to detect any bacterial contamination. If detected, soak in 3-5% hydrogen peroxide for at least 30 minutes. Then rinse well with water. (This can be used as a preventative measure as well.) Antibacterial soap (i.e. Nutribiotic) would also work well. Remember: rinse with lots of water after cleansing the bag.

NOTE: Enemas can be used daily when cleansing or detoxifying and then as needed. It takes a long time to rid the colon of a lifetime of waste! Using oral bulk fiber cleansers etc. will ensure your colon is getting a good workout and increasing its muscle tone, rather than becoming dependent on enemas. Also, increasing whole grains, vegetables & legumes in your diet will increase fiber intake.

Happy Cleansing
